If the Subconscious is impregnated by the Conscious Mind (That which we think with) while it is cut off from its Source like a branch from the Vine, it will defile the Temple (The Subconscious Aka Human Soul) causing it to become dual-minded - impure.
If the Temple is not guided by Spirit through the unification of the Conscious and Subconscious Minds working together as One in a Spiritual marriage, it will be guided by the inverted Christ Aka Ego, cut off from the Father. The Son is the I of the Conscious Mind, which will take and create thought from a place of duality and limitation if it is not one with the Subconscious Mind, allowing it to be guided by Spirit.
The pure mind is a Conscious Mind (that which we use to think with) staying still within the Subconscious (Temple) where they are joined in a meditative Oneness of Present Moment Awareness that is guided by ones true Intelligence as Spiritual Consciousness.
If the mind takes or creates thought itself, it rises out of the Temple, disconnecting itself from Spirit and all Spiritual guidance. The mind makes a terrible Master but a wonderful servant.
You cannot master the Mind if you identify as Mind which the disconnected, 'I' Aka Conscious Mind does. One can only be master of the Mind as Spirit, which of course takes Self-Realization. As previously stipulated the only way to realize the Self is through Present Moment Awareness - by keeping the thinking mind in the Being Awareness of the Temple until one's true Awareness as Soul lifts one up into one’s eternal and infinite Spiritual Consciousness.
Bottomline: Thought should always be given from Spirit, not taken (conjured up) by the Mind.
“Therefore, I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on”. - Matthew 6:25-34
