What Buddha means by this is he gave away the thinking mind which brings with it anger, anxiety, depression etc and embraced the Being Mind which is directed and guided by one's true Self - one's true Consciousness as Spirit. Thinking inhibits our natural being state. The minute one stops thinking one automatically starts being what they were all along - love.
Remember being is another word for meditation and we are human beings - we are not human thinking’s. Meditation is merely our natural state of being once we stop thinking.
