It is clear that one must die of the personal self to live - be born again as the Impersonal Self. I think most metaphysically minded people would agree that this was true.
Question is how is the personal sense of self dissolved (Omega) so that one's true identity shifts and becomes fixed on and AS the Impersonal (Unmanifest Alpha) - that lives through the personal but does not identify with it, therefore does not misuse it to create life via the creation of thought (Thinking). Instead, the true Mind, the Christ or Zen mind is thought upon and felt through the mind maintaing a mental stillness and emotional peace. Thinking though still necessary morphs more into a hyper-alert awareness that clearly cognizes the 'Knowing' (Faith) intuited by itself as the Unmanifest Alpha.
The act of thinking if it is inspired from the Impersonal is not a problem. The Impersonal has no need to overtax itself by overthinking. There must be a clear understanding and distinction between thoughts that originate from Mind Consciousness while separated from Spiritual Consciousness and thoughts (Rather an awareness of being) that originates from ones true Self - one's true Cause - The Unmanifest and inconceivable Alpha.
Remember at the moment you are NOT Conscious of your true Self as the Alpha - your true and eternal Consciousness. You have not realized it - you have not realized your true I am-ness of Spirit beyond Mind/body. You only know yourself as the Omega while unconscious of Thy Self as the Alpha.
The I am of your Consciousness (Your sense of existence - your sense of 'I am -ness') is identified with Mind Consciousness - with the mind and body. Which is just an instrument, irrespective of its time span, whether it be 80 years or 800 billion because time is irrelevant beyond the mental and physical planes of Being. Anything that that is temporary is not of the true Self which is eternal.
The I am-ness that gives you the sense of existing - is not you. At all. This is why you cannot command your mind or have full dominion over it. The mind cannot master itself - as most of us know very well!!!
Understand that everything you are conscious of is not you. Just like everything the eyeball looks at is not the eyeball. How can it be. The eyeball can never see itself as itself. It can only KNOW itself. Likewise with the true Self. You must learn to know yourself through your I - your I am-ness. It is 'knowing' you behold the true Self. Never seeing. The true Self is beyond sensory perception.
Your I am-ness is the door to your true Consciousness as spirit. The I of Christ i(Which you either use to think with or to listen intuitively with, is known - not seen. You know through it. This knowing is Faith. It’s like nothing else in the world. It is not thinking, nor feeling. It is beyond both but cognized by both. I am outside of cognition. I am the one looking. I am never the One looked at.
The I am-ness you think you are - you are not. You are creating thought with a mind that is - not worthy to create life. It is literally insane - caught up in a delusion of illusion. Maya - all Maya!
When one as the I (Which creates thought) sits in the Awareness of their Am – being both the Subconscious and the Present Moment, this Awareness deepens so that a whole other dimension of being is experienced in that the Consciousness of Mind becomes conscious through the Awareness of its true body of itself as Spiritual Consciousness – the true I that is your true Self.
It is just a matter of learning to use the mind differently, just as it is a matter of learning how to breathe properly or stand properly for good posture. Likewise with the mind. Being is the new thinking.
