The only thing worth asking for is spiritual illumination. To be the Presence in and of the Present Moment is all life is about. To become conscious of being Awareness. Once you are, everything takes care of itself, which you recognize now as Thy Self. Life takes care of itself as it is innately, without ever trying to be - omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. However, that does not mean you cannot pray for the health and wellbeing of yourself or another while journeying towards being fully conscious.
Bear in mind however that prayer is not asking. Prayer is affirming.
For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be made known and brought to light. Pay attention, therefore, to how you listen. Whoever has will be given more, but whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him. — Luke 8:18*
This means that one who truly believes in his heart (Subconscious AWARENESS) more will be given. For those who don't believe in their heart - a belief so strong it is embodied by the subconscious, even what he has will be taken away. This is basically pointing to the law of attraction. Like attracts like. Poverty begets poverty, riches beget riches.
Asking for anything other than Spirit illumination of some kind, is to ask as an egoic mind, (a mind experientially unconscious of its true Being as Awareness). If you pray/meditate in this manner, you will be praying amiss and not be heard. How many people have you known that have prayed for a thing only to not be given it? For thousands of years thousands of people have asked for their child to be healed, for money to simply eat, for any number of things and their prayers have not been heard. This is because they are praying amiss. They are praying at a frequency that Spirit cannot recognize or know. Spirit only recognizes reality. It cannot know the dreamworld of the egoic mind for this dreamworld is not reality irrespective of 'appearances'.
The universal mind, (The Inverted Christ or Buddha Mind) however, will hear these misplaced prayers. This is akin to rolling the dice for a healthy outcome due to the Universal mind being dualistic. One day you will have it and the next you won't. This is the nature of the mental realm. Everything has an equal and opposite reaction. Furthermore, if you are asking for someone to be healed then you are affirming this person is ill. How will this contrary prayer help anyone? One thought cancel's another out. This type of mentalism is pointless. Therefore, before you heal another of their false images (thoughts) that incur ill-health, be sure first to heal yourself of the false image and belief in their illness also. If you cannot see (Know) their true eternal Self behind the image held of them, you cannot help them for you are as subject to the illusion of ill-health as they are.
If you want to be heard Spiritually then you must be on the same frequency, much like a radio station picks up only certain radio waves depending on their frequency. Inner stillness, inner silence, love and open heartedness are the frequency of Spirit. To behold such a mind, one must have a passionate desire to serve the truth rather than yourself, for in truth there is no 'personal self'. Fill your temple with a loving and gentle stillness as you surrender yourself to Thy Self, meaning the personal to the impersonal. As human consciousness merges with Spiritual Consciousness you will feel more thy Self. Seek direction intuitively. See guidance from only that which your true Self would have you know or do. Wish only to serve the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, even if it hurts. Even if it goes against your most desired egoic wishes.
One must become one with the One. One must develop Buddha or Christ Consciousness if one is to embody the Unmanifest to manifest. One must KNOW the truth of the word or divine idea held in Consciousness. It must be deeper than being thought or felt - it must be KNOWN. Thought without emotion is a dead work but thought and feeling without Faith (That which is known) is with no life at all. Thought without Spiritual Consciousness is a dead work.
If it is comfort you seek during a difficult time, now it is yours, for in truth you are the comforter. If it is illumination over something you cannot let go of, so that you can, then now you can, for you are the way, the truth, and the life. You must realize experientially that you are the Christ, you are the Buddha through complete surrender of the personal. When this is experienced healing takes place naturally. If you want to heal someone else then hold this Christ or Spiritual Consciousness in mind and see them well and healthy, happy, and fulfilled in their own Consciousness that merges with the one Consciousness, and they will be. Time and space are not relevant in Spirit, so it does not matter if the person is standing beside you or halfway across the world.
